Congress Reinvented? Rights, Equity and Democracy: A Talk by Zoya Hasan
Zoya Hasan is a professor of political science at the Center of Political Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has previously taught at Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Zurich, and the University of Edinburgh. She has also held fellowships at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, at the Rockefeller Centre in Bellagio, at Maison Des Sciences Del� Homme in Paris, at the Centre for Modern Oriental Studies in Berlin, and at the Harvard University Asia Studies Center.
Professor Hasan is the author and editor of eleven books and has published over two dozen articles. Her recent books include Quest for Power: Oppositional Movements and Post-Congress Politics in Uttar Pradesh (Oxford University Press, 1998); Unequal Citizens: A Study of Muslim Women In India (co-authored, Oxford University Press, 2004); Parties and Party Politics in India (Oxford University Press, 2000); India�s Living Constitution: Ideas, Practices and Controversies (co- edited); Transforming India: Social Dynamics of Democracy (co-edited, Oxford University Press, 2000); In a Minority: Essays on Muslim Women in India (co-edited, Oxford University Press, 2005); and Politics of Inclusion: Castes, Minorities and Affirmative Action (Oxford University Press, 2009).
