Lithuanian Yale Alums Get Together in Vilnius
On September 14, a group of former Yale postdocs, exchange students, and degree students from Lithuania met in Vilnius to discuss how to advance mutual ties around Yale Baltic Studies Program and to promote Yale’s degree and other academic programs in Lithuania. The Kazickas Family Foundation, established by late Dr. Joseph Kazickas (PhD’51), hosted the meeting.
Organizer of the meeting Maksimas Milta (GRD’23) says: “There are almost 40 Lithuanian Yalies of all sorts — college graduates, master’s and Ph.D. graduates, post-docs, and exchange students. Spending even a few months at Yale is a life-changing experience, and we aim to make the most of our network after graduation. We want to promote Yale’s rigorous study programs and research opportunities in Lithuania and to encourage more Lithuanians to apply to Yale. Today’s meeting at the Kazickas Family Foundation is a first step towards that goal.”
