Repatriating Cultural Heritage: The Parthenon Marbles and Beyond
This panel will feature Prof. Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis, General Director of the Acropolis Museum in Athens, in conversation with Yale faculty to discuss the repatriation of cultural artifacts, with a particular focus on the ongoing efforts to return the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. The discussion will examine the historical, ethical, and museological dimensions of artifact repatriation, considering its impact on international museum practices, cultural diplomacy, and the future of global heritage stewardship.
