Alec Wood

Alec Wood is a Ph.D. candidate in musicology. His research addresses questions of subjectivity, voice, and musical meaning in phenomenology, psychoanalysis, and classical and popular music since 1800. He received a 2023–24 Chateaubriand Fellowship from the French Embassy in the U.S. to pursue research as a visiting scholar at the Sorbonne’s Centre de philosophie contemporaine and l’Association de Recherche en Hypnose Ericksonienne. Alec has also written and presented widely on Alexander Scriabin and Russian musical culture c. 1892-1930.
