Amelia Stefanovics

Amelia is pursuing double major in Global Affairs and Earth Sciences, interested in the geography, history, and policies of Northern Europe. In the Earth Sciences, she studies on the Environment and Energy track, and is especially passionate about geothermal, nuclear, and tidal energy systems, nuclear energy stigma, as well as the efficiency of renewable energies in Scandinavia.
She is also greatly interested in European Jewish history outside of the major European Jewish diasporas like Poland, instead focusing on regions such as Finland and Scandinavia. Through the lens of the Winter War and the Second World War, she has researched the Finnish Holocaust using ArcGIS to geo-reference Karelian concentration camps, digitizing mostly inaccessible information outside national archives.
Amelia is currently pursuing a project in geospatial dynamics of the Narva-Ivangorod border, using a combination of ArcGIS, Python, and AI algorithms to identify queue structures and security issues.
