Avi Ross

Avi Ross is a sophomore in Pierson College from Los Angeles, California. He is majoring in Global Affairs and pursuing a certificate in French. He is interested in transatlantic cooperation, nuclear strategy, European integration, and the rise of populism in the West. Avi has pursued these interests in his coursework and his membership in European Horizons and the Alexander Hamilton Society. He has researched the collapse of Social Democracy in Europe, and this summer, he will be in Sweden to study the rise of far-right populism. Through the Yale Nuclear Security fellowship, Avi has attended talks on NATO’s nuclear arsenal and will be conducting research this summer on nuclear non-proliferation treaties in Europe and the US. Through these programs, he hopes to delve deeper into understanding the internal and external threats to American and European security.
