Camille Roussel

Undergraduate Student

Camille Roussel is a student pursuing a double major in Global Affairs and Comparative Literature (French and Russian). Through studying abroad in Kyrgyzstan and Georgia, she became interested in the Russian-speaking region of the world. She is particularly interested in studying this region through the lens of cultural diplomacy, allowing her to combine her interests in international politics, the arts, literature, and languages. She hopes to later contribute to policy surrounding the protection of heritage and efforts to promote literacy around the world.

At Yale, Camille worked with Professor Nari Shelekpayev to find primary sources on Georgian politics, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. She currently works as a research assistant for Professor Claire Roosien. Outside of her academic work, she is the Head Design Editor for the Yale Review of International Studies, volunteers for the Yale Interpretation Network as a French translator, and works as a Writing Partner.
