Ely Altman

Ely is interested in Armenian politics, grand strategy, and genocide memorial. This past summer, he traveled to Yerevan to study the legacy of the Armenian genocide as well as the wars with Azerbaijan. Sitting in the heart of the strategic South Caucasus region, Armenia’s tilt to the West and competition with its neighbors merit attention. Ely is interested in the grand strategy of small nations. From the example of Armenia, he hopes to study how nations with limited resources can successfully position themselves amid great power competition and a rising multi-polar world.
