Jamila Jaxaliyeva

Jamila is a Master of Forestry student at the Yale School of the Environment, originally from Kazakhstan. Her work explores the intersection of livestock, land management, and environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on the Western United States and Western Kazakhstan. Drawing on her international background and hands-on experience in both regions, Jamila is interested in how pastoral traditions, ecological knowledge, and modern policy can come together to shape resilient landscapes and rural communities.
