Jessica Tomlinson
Jessica Tomlinson is an MPP in Global Affairs candidate at the Yale Jackson School. Originally from the UK, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, achieving a First Class with Distinction in Russian and Spanish. Whilst at Cambridge, a key aspect of her academic interests was Russian national identity and nationhood. Following this, she spent two years as a researcher and parliamentary assistant at the UK House of Lords, where she conducted research on Russia and Eastern Europe, UK-EU relations and British politics amongst other topics with an International and European focus. In this role, she wrote widely on Russian economic and political history. At Yale, Jessica intends to pursue a varied course of study situated at the nexus of the 3 ‘D’s—diplomacy, development and defence—as well as continuing to develop her specialism in policy and peace building in the post-Soviet space.
