Coming from Germany and being a member of a political party there created in me a passion for European Affairs and made me a big advocate for the European Union, which I see as the most successful peace project in the modern world. However, witnessing the troubling rise of populism across Europe and the EU's struggle with challenges, such as the Euro crisis and migration, shows that the success of the EU is not given and requires a constant effort by states and policy makers to find compromises and collaborative solutions to the EUs most pressing challanges.

As I am interested in majoring in Economics and Global Affairs, I am driven by the idea to use my education to finding solutions for some of the EU's problems today. I am dedicated to addressing concerns about European unity and combating the rise of populism. Equally captivating to me is the EU's journey toward economic integration, the complexities surrounding the 2015 monetary union crisis, and exploring ways for the EU to bolster its economic competitiveness in the face of economic superpowers like China and the US.

Beyond the classroom, I actively engage with European Horizons, where I organize dinner discussions with experts on European Affairs. Additionally, I am a member of the Yale Sustainable Consulting Collective, where I try to make a positive impact through working on sustainability issues. Outside of university, I like to travel around Europe and like to engage with the continents history.
