Keerthana Chari

Keerthana is a junior in Berkeley studying environmental engineering, with a certificate in Italian studies. She is especially interested in the development of Italian speculative fiction and how this compares to such developments in the more dominant U.S./English book market. In particular, she wants to investigate these ideas through the translation of lesser-known Italian sci-fi/fantasy stories for an American audience. With these English translations, she hopes to provide new, exciting counterparts to the traditional canon of sci-fi/fantasy. Keerthana also enjoys learning about curation and presentation in museums, which she has explored through a focus on historical objects in Scottish exhibitions, and as a Student Guide at the Yale Center for British Art.
