Lauren Kim
Lauren is pursuing a B.A. in Ethics, Politics, & Economics. She recently conducted research in France on the legal dimensions of religious freedom, with a focus on the tensions between secularism and religious expression. Her internships with the Foundation for Economic Education, the American Enterprise Institute, and an economic development nonprofit in New Haven have shaped her interest in the relationship between economic policy, liberalism, and the role of the state in pluralistic societies. On campus, she has worked as a Research Assistant for Professors Ivana Katic, Abigail Friedman, and Ximena Benavides.
Lauren is particularly interested in the European Union’s legal frameworks, and in addition to her focus on Western Europe, she hopes to deepen her understanding of Russia and Eastern Europe. She is also drawn to questions about a number of other topics ranging from education policy and artificial intelligence law to opera studies and theology.
