Lola Shehu

Lola is a current MA student in the European and Russian Studies program at Yale. Her research interests center on the movements of people and ideas across the Adriatic region in the modern period; with particular focus on memory and identity formation in the area of present day Albania, Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro. While at Yale, Lola is researching migration and citizenship in the Venetian state, and the southern question in 19th and 20th century Italy. Her thesis will explore the reception of the myth of Kosovo and the Serbian nationalist narrative in Italy, through a close investigation of the Serbian and Albanian nationalist movements, through the postwar period.
