Undergraduate Student

Lukas Koutsoukos is an Ethics, Politics, & Economics and History double major in the Class of 2027. His interests primarily lie in relations between the United States and Europe, specifically with regards to Greece and Cyprus; outside of modern European studies, he also enjoys researching topics such as diplomacy in Latin America, elections, and ancient political philosophy. His work has focused on topics such as the Cyprus issue, democratic backsliding in the Western world, and the Greek diaspora in the United States.

Through the Yale Hellenic Society, Lukas is also active in organizing events promoting Greek culture on Yale's campus. He enjoys organizing language tables, speaker events, holiday celebrations, and even dance lessons with the cooperation of MacMillan's Hellenic Studies Program and the European Studies Council. Overall, Lukas firmly believes that his work with the Hellenic Society is vital to helping him explore the role of Greek-Americans as community organizers, investigating how the diaspora can play an active role in both Europe and the United States.
