Mustafa Zewar

I study French to research European colonial concepts of the history, identity, and literary canon of Arab nations from the classical period up to the present day. I am fascinated by the translation movements within France particularly (and the British Empire) when it came to Classical Arabic texts. At the same time, in the modern era, I have been intrigued by the French-speaking Arab diaspore in Europe and the intellectual tradition it has produced. I seek to add more European languages to my arsenal, particularly Spanish to consider the rich Andalusian literary tradition.
