YSE News: Russian Environmentalists Bring Conservation Skills and Insights to YSE

Nataliia Lisitcyna and her partner, Dmitry Lisitsyn, who founded the nonprofit Sakhalin Environmental Watch (SEW), will be bringing their formidable experience in conservation work to the Yale School of the Environment. Nataliia will be joining YSE as an associate research scholar in October 2024 and as a McCluskey Fellow beginning April 1, 2025. Dmitry will be an executive fellow.

They have spent decades protecting the remote island of Sakhalin, off Russia’s far eastern shore, by pressing for legal restraints on harmful oil, gas and mining activities.

A recent article published by the Yale School of the Environment highlights their work.
