REEESNe Summer Grants Competition for Students (Due Apr. 16)
REEESNe announces its 2025 Student Internship and Research Grant competition, which helps students to fund professionalization opportunities (internships, mentorship, research, etc.) in summer 2025. To be eligible, students must typically have been enrolled at one of our member institutions as of January 2025, and/or be set to be enrolled by September 2025. Grants in most cases are awarded in the range of $1,000 to $2,500. Proposals should be for projects that are not fully covered by other grants or funding sources, and generally should not be for work for which you will receive a salary (exceptions could include taking an internship abroad that pays just enough to cover room and board, but you need a REEESNe grant to finance your international travel). To find full information on eligibility, requirements, and application procedures, please visit Yale University’s grants database, search for “REEESNe,” and click on “REEESNe Student Internship and Research Grant” (not the “Administrator/Faculty Conference Grant”).
Application due date: April 16th, 2025.
Recommendation letter required (if your reference cannot meet the April 16th deadline, they may email it to ian.macmillen@yale.edu by April 23rd, but all other application materials are dur on the 16th)
Note that non-Yale applicants will need to create login credentials before accessing the grant application through the database. Please also download the guidelines in order to see the list of essay prompts and word limits, as you may find it better to work on and save your proposal outside of the online system. Applications are due by the end of day on April 16th. The portal will remain open until 1 pm on April 17th in the event that you experience trouble submitting and need to contact our staff for assistance during working hours. You will be asked about Institutional Review Board (IRB) clearance for any proposed research involving human subjects, and, if required for your project, will need to demonstrate IRB approval from your institution before accepting funding from REEESNe.
