The United States-Ukraine Academic Consortium

The European Studies Council at Yale and The Building Bridges Global Advocacy Network have invited university students from the United States and from across all of Ukraine’s regions to participate in an academic consortium in spring of 2014.

The purpose of this collaborative project was to pursue, in an academic setting, ideas for a bright, stable and prosperous future for both Ukraine and its relationship with the United States.

The Consortium began on April 9, 2014, with a live videoconference that allowed students in New Haven to pose questions to their Ukrainian counterparts in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk and Lviv.

Here you will find clips from the videoconference, as well as presentations put together by students from the following universities and organizations:

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy
Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
Taras Shevchenko National University of Luhansk
Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
The European Youth Parliament of Ukraine
Columbia University
Harvard University
Yale University

Currently, the students are working on a jointly authored US-Ukraine White Paper, which they hope to release shortly. Please revisit this website in the near future for updates and additional video presentations.

The views and opinions expressed here do not represent the views of Yale University, Building Bridges, or any of the other academic or non-profit institutions represented by the students.
