Leitner Seminar Series: Alexander Trubowitz

Alexander Trubowitz is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at Yale and a visiting researcher at the University of Konstanz. His work lies in the fields of comparative and international political economy and deals with distributive conflict over the design of social insurance and tax systems. He is interested in the ways in which processes of structural economic change create and undermine coalitions in favor of redistributive policies, especially by reallocating exposure to labor market risks. His dissertation examines the underlying determinants of the institutional differences between the liberal market economies of the Anglophone world and the economies of Continental Europe and Scandinavia. He also studies the political economy of innovation and financial development.
Alexander received a B.A. in Political Science and Classics from Tufts University (summa cum laude), where he studied the history of political thought and ancient philosophy.
