Event description:

Aastha received her intense music training at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy (www.itcsra.com) where she had the privilege of training under the tutelage of Pt. Arun Bhaduri and Padma Vibhushan Smt. Girija Devi Ji.
Performing for more than 20 years all over India and abroad with numerous awards and honours to her credit, Aastha is based in Vrindavan, the cultural-spiritual centre. Aastha Goswami’s representation of the Indian music tradition in the world-renowned Harvard, Yale and Columbia Universities deserves a special mention. Well entrenched in the classical Hindustani music in the famous Kirana musical tradition, she has also moved toward Devotional music. She has evolved her unique style of Padavali Gaayan, which imbibes the intricacies of Khayal Gayaki filled with deep emotions. Her repertoire is replete with classical compositions and Thumris. She also has a rich and rare collection of compositions of the Braj region like Krishna-Radha Janamotsava Badhai Gaan, Jhoola, Ashtyaam Raag Seva, songs of different seasons and festivals like Hori, Basant, Savan, etc.
“Aastha Goswami’s voice is like honey flavoured by the rarest saffron of selfless sadhana and when this dedicated riyaaz is perfected at the feet of Radharamanji in Vrindavan, it transcends time and space to pierce infinity! She is on a different internal journey; reaching Ishwara through Swara!” –Padmashri Geeta Chandran.
