Professor Susan Rose-Ackerman will briefly introduce her book, winner of the Yale MacMillan Center’s Gustav Ranis Book Prize, which deals with executive-branch policymaking, expertise, and democratic values. Then, Yale Professors Kate Baldwin, Isabela Mares, and Rohini Pande will consider how polities outside of the US and western Europe confront similar issues relating to the links between constitutional structures, executive policymaking, and public participation, focusing on the panelists’ areas of expertise. This event is part of the Political Science Department’s Politics Across Borders series.
