The Council on Latin American & Iberian Studies at the MacMillan Center, Yale School of the Environment, and Yale Law School present the “Climate Change Crisis and Environmental Justice in the Amazon: Voices from Indigenous Peoples and Activists” conference. The conference will include various panels focusing on the effects of climate change, the importance of indigenous rights, and the urgency for awareness regarding the ongoing political conflict within the Amazon.

This conference is in honor of the journalists, writers, and activists Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira who were killed in the Amazon in June 2022.

The conference will end with a photo exhibit and a reception with a performance by members of the Yale Brazilian Music Collective.
