Prashant Rayaprolu

Prashant Rayaprolu is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia. He is an economic geographer interested in studying how private institutions, such as consulting firms, law firms and banks, shape the rules for the operation of global industries and value chains that connect diverse regional economies. His dissertation project delineates how the ideals associated with competition and free markets become institutionalized to radically alter the relationship between buyers and suppliers in the global offshore outsourcing industry. He received his BA and MA from the University of Toronto, where he was trained in Economics and Political Science.
