The Gustav Ranis International Book Prize celebrates the most outstanding book by a Yale ladder faculty member, while the Gaddis Smith International Book Prize acknowledges the finest first book by a Yale ladder faculty member. Awardees receive a coveted research appointment at the MacMillan Center and $5,000 in research funds, enabling them to further advance their scholarly work.
