Ilia Sukhovalov

Ilia Sukhovaov obtained his BA in American Studies and Intercultural Communication and the MA in General and Applied Phonetics. Before joining Yale as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant, Ilia had been working as a teacher trainer and materials writer at one of the private English schools in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He also developed a course on American pronunciation for Russian speakers and presented his research into creating this course on international conferences. Apart from his academic interests, Ilia has worked as a volunteer on international forums by accompanying foreign delegates and has won first prizes in numerous music contests, participating as a piano player and a songwriter.
