Thais Abreu Vianna
Thais Vianna is from Rio de Janeiro and is a Portuguese Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant. She majored in English language and Literature at the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and is currently a Master’s student in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the same university. Her research focuses on translation studies, specifically on Brazilian literary self-translation. In her thesis, she aims to investigate the self-translation choices and motivations of a Brazilian poet who works with the English-Portuguese language pair. In addition, Thais also had the opportunity to share her passion for literature when she worked as a reading promoter volunteer for Children’s Education at a Community Activity Center during her undergraduate years.
