Yuqing ‘Dorothy’ Wu

Yuqing Wu is a third-year PhD candidate at Yale Sociology and a junior fellow at the Center for Cultural Sociology. Looking at how pop culture contributes to soft power in East Asia (China, Japan, and South Korea), Yuqing Wu has a general interest in youth culture, media and communication, and visual persuasion - how they matter to individual life as well as to national branding. Her past research examined the perception and experience of Chinese international students in the United States.
