Celebrating Our 2022 MA Graduates
The whole MacMillan team sends a heartfelt congratulations to this year’s graduates, as well as all those who came back to campus last week to celebrate in person after two years of remote festivities.
A special recognition goes to our MA students from African Studies, East Asian Studies, and European Studies - who came together on Sunday after so much global uncertainty through their entire program, to celebrate graduates studying topics from the histories of the Korean peninsula to Eastern Europe and democracy and African art and social movements.
We also want to recognize everyone - from students, to faculty, and staff, who made this extraordinary year so fruitful. In 2021-2022 Yale MacMillan hosted over a hundred international visitors, supported over 500 Yale students to do international research, supported over 250 faculty across 35 Yale schools and departments, and led hundreds of events. All in a year where plans for such activities changed on a dime. Most importantly we hosted all of these activities with our characteristic focus on depth of knowledge and learning, and in collaboration across regional and disciplinary lines.
We hope you all have a wonderful and safe summer, especially as many of you are returning to in person research around the world, and we look forward to convening again - both in person and virtually - for the fall semester.
