Jonathan Wyrtzen selected for Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for Morocco
Associate Professor Jonathan Wyrtzen was one of five faculty selected in the 2017-18 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition for Morocco. This fall he will be based as a Fulbright scholar at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco, finishing the research and writing for his current book manuscript. This transnational study analyzes how World War I and its immediate aftermath transformed political orders from Morocco to Iraq. His previous book, Making Morocco: Colonial Intervention and the Politics of Identity, won the 2016 Social Science History Association President’s Book Award.
