Before coming to Yale, she was involved in several research projects that focused on the behaviour and policymaking of Central Asian states, as well as regional integration. She also completed internships with some of the most notable think tanks in Central Asia. Currently she is focusing on the political history of the Soviet Union, as well as Eastern European and Central Asian countries, with particular interests in memory politics, intellectual history, and nation and tradition building.
