Suvij Sudershan
PhD Student
Suvij is interested in the development of the novel in nineteenth century Europe. Specifically, Suvij studies the meaning of realism in the European context, as well textual sites where this aesthetic is placed under duress. He hopes to link this study to literary developments from earlier literary eras, as well the transmutation of realism itself as it travels globally. In his future work, he would like to chart the linkages between ideas of realism and the rural-urban divide.
