SAST Major Requirements

Among the requirements of the South Asian Studies major are: 

  • 7 term courses in South Asian Studies numbered 2000 or above (including 2 in premodern topics and 2 seminars),
  • a senior essay completed as part of a seminar or an independent research course (SAST 4910), and
  • the study of one South Asian language at the advanced level (courses designated L5).
