Rooted in a passion for Oneness and tradition, singer-songwriter, mother-son duo, Eli Lakes and Liza Garza appearing as GROW, present an array of original music that carries on in the tradition of their family. Honoring their ancestors, they hold sacred the power of song and storytelling and its ability to unveil bridges between the hearts. The joy they share on the stage they also take into their work as facilitators. Offering workshops that explore Love and Healing they championing the vulnerable with every creative exchange, celebrating their mutual passion for each other and their divine purpose.

LIZA GARZA BIO:
Emmy Award-nominated Liza Garza is a poet, vocalist, facilitator and designer. Infusing the cultural soul of Mexican folk tunes in modern ballads with the intricacy of Hip Hop rhyme schemes, she bridges the ancestral with the modern. Currently she is a Intercultural Leadership Institute fellow. She also serves as Arts and Culture Advisor for the Inner City Muslim Action Network in Atlanta and is honored to be recognized as a 2018-19 Sacred Cypher Creative, and Roster Artist.
With perfomances that include The Lincoln Center, The Apollo, the National Association of Latino Arts & Culture, HBO Def Poetry Jam and numerous stages world wide, diverse people are finding a home in her voice.

ELI LAKES BIO:
Eli Lakes is a musician, producer, art activist and urban farmer. Raised and rooted in culture and purpose he pursued his passion from an early age. Eli began experimenting with his voice and several instruments and due to his self driven work ethic joined his mother, Liza Garza as her official guitarist and backup vocalist at the age of 15. In 2016 he became the youngest voting member of Alternate Roots and currently serves on the Executive Committee. In 2017, he became the youngest Intercultural Leadership Institute fellow for the inaugural cohort. In 2018, he participated in his first residency as an Inner City Muslim Action Network artist roster member. With a love for joy and justice his light radiates far and wide.
